I’m givin’ up, we’re gonna burn it to the ground, oh how I love that crackle sound
of all that pent up hate and rage

I’m givin’ in, we’re surley tempted by the sin of trapping bitterness within
this broken heart shaped like a cage

It’s only fair, to look at who we have become and ask yourself what’s made up numb
to all the buried pain and guilt

And yet I run, from every stone that’s overturned, it’s like we’re never gonna learn
from tearing down what we have built

And I know what must be done
And I know, I’m gonna run

Rage and reason are my true and only friends, like ice and fire are both means to an end
I lie awake at night and think about the road, if I’m not leaving soon I’m bound to implode

My bags are packed, I’m leaving at the break of dawn, I swear I’ll write when I am gone
but don’t expect to see me soon

It’s all I know, it’s fight or flight or droppin’ dead, we’re holding on by a thread
I measure patience with a spoon

I’m breaking down, and yet my face won’t show a thing, the thought of what the future brings
And how I wish I only knew

If you must know, I miss the life I lead before, and as I hold open the door
I’m terrified of stepping through
